Canal Boat Cruises will be having a guided cruise with Simon Entwistle who will be story telling of Lancashire Tales on Friday 23rd November 2018, the cruise will be departing at 7.30pm from our Marina At Riley Green and this will be a 2 hour canal cruise.
Simon Entwistle is an award winning tour guide and storey teller, He has appeared on tv and radio over the years and is a font of knowledge regarding local tales and legends. Join simon on this fabulous cruise through the lush green countryside, and listen to stories from the canal bank, Heroes villain’s ghosts and mysteries. We start with the Story of local Author William woodruff and his best-selling book The Walk to Nab End a story of the great depression in Blackburn in the 1930s. We then focus on the white lady of Samlesbury hall and the affair of the heart and her ghostly sightings and her engagement ring. We take in the famous bashall Eaves murder of 1934 ,Scotland yard could not find the culprit ,But the locals know .Who built Blackpool tower and why we look in to the creation of this iconic building .The story of Kettledrum local horse who hoodwinked the 1861 Epsom derby by winning against the odds.If you enjoy story telling ,And indeed stories that can capture your imagination and paint a picture in your imagination then this cruise is a must ,You will not be disappointed .
